Introduction to Lesson 1

Instructional design models help explain the processes used to design and develop instruction. There are several models that can be used in different settings; the following are some of the most popular ones. The goal of instructional design models such as the ADDIE one is to help educators ensure that they are teaching the appropriate material in an optimal manner. In this lesson, we will define the five stages of the ADDIE model and discuss its importance in the design process.

The lesson will cover the following course learning outcomes :

  • Identify the steps involved in the ADDIE Model
  • Discuss the advantages of using ADDIE in one of your own courses
