Implementing an Operational Ocean Monitoring and Forecasting System (OOFS)

Implementing an operational ocean monitoring and forecasting system
is guided by multiple scientific, technical and outreach choices.


This course will provide examples of these choices through an
overview of the products from an operational oceanography and
forecasting systems (via the Copernicus Marine Service portfolio) and a
demonstration on graphical user interfaces and command line interfaces
to visualize these data. Practical sessions will be proposed on
Assimilation & Validation and Downscaling.

Marine Data Management, Governance and the MEDIN toolset

This training course is suitable for anyone responsible for collecting or managing marine environmental data in the public sector, industry or for education or research. Familiarity with different marine data types, and how data is acquired and used, would be helpful but not essential. Prior knowledge or practical experience of data management is not required. The course can be taken as a whole, or attendees can select modules according to two streams: Governance; Practical MEDIN.
